An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Graduate/Junior who will be responsible for providing high quality support services to customers within in a busy IT service desk environment. The Junior Network Engineer will have excellent communication skills as well as an understanding of IT.  The successful candidate will have a passion for IT and a real desire to learn their way around an IT support environment.

 What will you be doing:

  • You will be part of our service desk team and assist with remote support and responding to all incoming email and telephone requests
  • Support encompasses supporting a wide range of software and hardware including Printers, Desktop PC’s and Laptops, Macs, iPad’s and Tablets, Active Directory, VPN and Remote Support, MFA and 2FA Support, Antivirus Support, Various Software Support, Server Administration, MS Office - Versions 2010 – 2020, Windows Operating Systems - Windows 8 through to 10, Network Support, Printer Support and Telephony/Telecoms Support
  • Ensure all customer calls are handled quickly, courteously, efficiently and in a professional manner, updating customers regularly in the event of any delay
  • PC Hardware and software configuration
  • Helping to monitor and log backup issues and responding to monitoring system alert tickets
  • Liaise with 3rd party providers
  • Maintain up-to-date customer files and document steps involved in software and hardware configuration and repair for use within the service desk and ensuring all documentation is kept up to date

 What do we need?

  • A genuine interest in IT as a subject with a desire to stay ahead of trends within Technology, perhaps you have even built your own Gaming PC
  • We would like to see that you have some work history in the past, ideally within customer service or retail
  • A clean car driving license would be advantageous but not essential
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and a commitment to providing excellent customer service
  • The personal attributes necessary to perform this role (in addition to those mentioned above) are primarily a methodical, logical organised mind. This needs to be supported by a tidy approach to completing tasks and achieving deadlines as well as communicating the outcome. We are looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic, customer focused individual to join our vibrant and expanding team


  • Required: To be considered for this role, you must have at least a C/4 grade in both GCSE Maths & English, and in three or four other subjects at least and or a GCSE/BTEC/A Level in ICT or at least hands-on experience with the workings of computers and IT
  • Desirable: CompTIA, A+, Network or Microsoft Certifications or equivalent or part thereof

Working hours:

  • 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
  • As it stands the role will require remote working for the foreseeable future, with the opportunity to attend a COVID secure office upon arrangement with your Line Manager. As and when we return to more normal working practices this will be a purely office based role.
