 An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Graduate/Junior who will be responsible for providing high quality support services to customers within in a busy IT service desk environment. The Junior Network Engineer will have excellent communication skills as well as an understanding of IT.  Working with this leading IT support organisation, the successful candidate will gain experience in working in a busy customer service role and gain knowledge of IT Support. The successful candidate will have a passion for IT and a real desire to learn their way around an IT support environment.


  • Answering calls directly on the service desk
  • Ensure all customer calls are handled quickly, courteously, efficiently and in a professional manner, updating customers regularly in the event of any delay
  • Ensure all IT related issues are logged
  • Be able to work independently
  • Helping to monitor and log backup issues and helping to resolve cases
  • Ensure detected issues are responded to and logged when flagged by the monitoring system
  • Maintain up-to-date customer files and document steps involved in software and hardware configuration and repair for use within the service desk and ensuring all documentation is kept up to date
  • Liaise with 3rd party providers
  • Resolve first level calls as appropriate and depending on experience, ensure that the call is closed accurately and efficiently
  • Reporting – generating and communicating reports to customers
  • PC Hardware and software configuration

 About You:

  • Very key to this role is a friendly, helpful, team-orientated person that shows excellent customer service skills
  • Ideally from an IT background but will consider a customer service background if they can back it up with strong technical skills/knowledge
  • Strong desire to build and enhance their skills in IT
  • Highly beneficial to have certifications in A+, Network+ or similar
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Other key strengths required include:  good attention to detail, able to build and maintain customer relations, consistency, interpersonal skills, ability to work unsupervised & under pressure, self-confidence, analysis, numeracy & literacy, prioritisation, a positive, professional & proactive approach.


Required:            O’ level/GCSE Maths & English

Additional Requirement:  It would be preferred if the individual is a car owner and holds a valid UK driving licence
