Job Purpose:

Net Technical Solutions currently have a career opportunity for an Account Manager to join our growing Sales and Account Management team. The main purpose of the role is to help manage a number of key client relationships and to carry out strategic activities with these clients, both ‘reacting’ to requests from customers, and ‘proactively’ developing sales of products and services in line with each customer’s ‘ IT road-map’. The successful candidate will be expected to draw on their previous experience to help provide a key link between our Service Desk and the Customer, and also to provide support and assistance to others within the Account Management team as and when required. The role will typically require a healthy mix of office-based working and visits to customer sites.


Experience of working in a sales/account management capacity would be ideal, however is not essential provided the candidate can demonstrate an aptitude for this kind of work. Direct experience in the IT industry working in a technical capacity is essential however, preferably within the B2B environment. An understanding of IT networks, security, servers and IT related products and services is also essential, along with experience of a Service Desk environment.

The successful applicant must be highly motivated with a high level of written and verbal communication and strong organisational/time management skills. Applicants should be able to demonstrate a keenness to learn and to keep abreast with the latest IT products and technology. Applicants should hold a clean, full UK driving licence and should be prepared to use their personal transport for business use from time to time as the job requires.


 Required:            O’ level/GCSE English / O’ level/GCSE Maths

Clean Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable:            O’ level/GCSE Computer-related subject;  Microsoft Certifications (MCP or MCSE ideally)

 Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  •  Develop and maintain key client relationships, including direct liaison with customers and internal staff via email, telephone, and on-site visits.
  • Coordinate periodical account management/strategy meetings with core customers and appropriate internal technical staff where appropriate.
  • Respond to account management/sales enquiries in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Manage the production of accurate and competitive sales quotations.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate completion and return of any documentation pertaining to each customer, including contract renewals and sales orders.
  • Liaise with 3rd party service providers as and when required, with regards to both service delivery and sales.
  • Increase product penetration within client base through cross-selling/up-selling where appropriate.
  • Create and maintain opportunities and projects via our Quotes and Sales Order systems.
  • Oversee provisioning of one off Network Installation projects relating to key client base.
  • Oversee provisioning of peripheral Recurring Services (Internet, hosting/backup etc).
  • Assist with purchasing of products and services relating to one-off Network Installation projects or ongoing Recurring Services.
  • Assist with preparation of invoices relating to all one off Network Installations, and assist with maintaining accurate billing information relating to Recurring Services.
  • Maintain ownership of each sale from strategy>quote>project>delivery>install>invoice
  • Assist with on-boarding of new customers and off-boarding of those who are leaving
  • Maintain accurate Customer Relationship Management information in company database relating to core client base.
  • Monitor and report on Sales and Account Management activities, and provide relevant management information as and when required.
  • Attend technical and sales training to develop relevant knowledge and skills.
